3 Ways to Scent Your Home Naturally

Having a house that smells good, without chemicals, it’s possible and it’s pleasant!

There are many reasons to want a home that smells like heaven. Here are Andy's solutions:

Remove the smell of the previous occupants, for good!

What seemed impossible to you is probably simpler than you think! The easiest trick is also very inexpensive. Place a bowl or wide-mouthed jar filled with baking soda in the rooms or furniture that need it, and let it do the work. For the next 4 weeks, once a week, use a spoon to remove the top layer of baking soda (this will have absorbed all the odors), the equivalent of about 1 cm deep.

Andy likes to add a few drops of eucalyptus globulus essential oil, lavender or of melaleuca to help the bicarbonate work.

Classic hiding places would be behind the toilet, in the pantry, in closets, in the entryway, and under the kitchen sink.

This trick is also used by Andy when she acquires a new used piece of furniture, a small pot in each drawer with a pierced lid and presto, the smell will become pleasant again in a few weeks, without thinking about it!

Add a scent that suits you, effortlessly

An extraordinary tool that will save you a lot of time and allow you to have a home that represents you: the passive diffuser ! A small bottle in which you place reed sticks that will do all the work, what more could you ask for? Leave them in a place where you often pass. Their scent radiates about 2 meters from the bottle, so it is the perfect ally for the living room, bathroom, entrance or passage. Turn the reeds every week to increase their effectiveness, Andy admits not to do it and it is still very effective, imagine!! Atelier Tonic offers you three comforting atmospheres: Dans L'Bois , Dans L'sud , Dans L'Spa . It's up to you to see what speaks to you. Tonic Workshop Passive Diffuser

Remove bad odors quickly for the visit

You've had a big week, tour is coming in an hour and you'd like your haven to smell like you've been scrubbing all week? Here's a quick little ritual to eliminate cooking smells, a hard trip to the bathroom (no one needs to know, right?) or your hockey bag finishing drying in the next room.

Fumigation, an effective, inexpensive and fast odor-killing technique. If you don't already know, your life is about to change drastically (seriously!) Fumigation is not just to prepare your salmon or put a wasp nest to sleep, it is used for holistic rituals, but also quite simply to eliminate odors! Palo Santo and Sage

How does it work? Well, you just have to light the end of your stick, wait for the flame to catch and a nice orange ember to appear, then extinguish it and walk around with it in the place where you would like to eliminate the odors, then place it in a fireproof bowl or plate (while everything cools).

Andy prefers the resinous smell of palo santo or the vegetal scent of a sage stick . You can also burn sandalwood which has a much spicier and sweeter smoke, or go for an experience full of surprises and made from local plants with the fumigation sticks .

The best technique will be the one you are most comfortable with. The best smell will be the one that appeals to you the most. So let yourself be inspired and go for it! There is nothing better than feeling that our home resembles us.

May well-being be in your home!
